Procedures for Disposal of Hazardous Waste
Biological Waste and Sharps Disposal
Sharps and biological waste are picked up throughout campus, following receipt of a Biological Waste and Sharps Form (PDF). Supplies, such as sharp containers and cardboard bio boxes, are delivered as they are needed.
Chemical Waste Disposal
In accordance with the university’s Procedures for Disposal of Hazardous Waste, EHS removes regulated or potentially regulated chemical waste from University facilities. The types of wastes collected include laboratory reagents, spent solvents, batteries, and used oil.
To request a chemical waste pick-up:
- Read procedures for filling out the Chemical Request for Disposal form.
- Download a Chemical Waste Form (PDF).
- Submit the completed form either through Campus Mail (C2600) or through the fax at (512) 471-6918.
