Synergies: The Sustainability Newsletter of the University of Texas at Austin launched on January 22. The newsletter is geared towards faculty, staff and students at UT, and will feature sustainability related campus events, activities and achievements. Numerous individuals and departments across campus are engaged sustainability initiatives, and our goal is to help publicize this information, creating a broader understanding of sustainability here at UT. It will also help in connecting individuals who wish to get involved in campus projects. Synergies is unique in that it focuses only on campus related sustainability initiatives. This is a great way to help individuals learn what other students, faculty and staff are working on to promote sustainability, because often these projects are not widely publicized to the broader campus community. It also helps bring recognition to individuals for their commitment to creating a more sustainable campus. In addition to the articles, each newsletter will list upcoming campus events with the time and place, and a new tip on how to live and work more sustainably at UT.

If you are working on a campus sustainability project and would like your work to appear in the newsletter, or to submit comments, please contact Chelsea McMellen, Sustainability Coordinator, at chelsea.mcmellen@austin.utexas.edu. We are building a list of people who would like to receive this newsletter: one e-mail a month. Subscribe online and see the newsletter archive.
