Official Plans
The Emergency Management Plan is a step-by-step guide explaining the university’s official course of action in the event of fires, evacuation, terrorism, threats of violence, transportation accidents, and others. The plan contains information about the different levels of emergencies and outlines the corresponding roles of different university departments.

The Severe Weather and Hurricane Plan is a step-by-step guide explaining the university’s official course of action in the event of flash flooding, lightning, hail, tornadoes, high temperatures, strong winds, frozen precipitation, cyclones, and cold temperatures. The plan contains information about the different levels of severe weather and outlines the corresponding roles of different university departments.

The Building Emergency Plan is a customized emergency plan for each building on campus. The plan is important because certain emergency conditions may present the need to evacuate a building or to seek shelter in buildings. Pre-planning and rehearsal are effective ways to ensure that building occupants recognize the evacuation alarm, the outdoor warning system and other emergency communications, and know how to respond.

The Business Continuity Plan Annex provides guidance to ensure financial integrity and continuity of service to the community in the event of a disaster. This plan aims to mitigate the effects of disruptions on the university’s strategic plans, reputation, operations, and ability to remain in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Departmental Templates
The Departmental Emergency Plan Guidance Document is designed to provide instructions for University Departments on how to prepare their Departmental Emergency Action Plan, which is a support document of the University’s Emergency Management Plan. The Departmental Emergency Plan enables Departments to plan for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery and for the University to maintain viability of mission critical operations during and after any emergency or covered incident.
