Green Facts
- We recycled 8,200 pounds of aluminum printing plates from September 2006 to July 2008.
- Our Copy Centers recycle unsold course packets and waste paper, and reuse shipping boxes whenever possible.
- We recycled 63,372 pounds of mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, and print job cuttings between January 28 and April 7, 2008. This impressive number helped the university place well among other colleges in the nationwide competition, Recyclemania 2008.
- We also contributed to the Recyclemania 2008 totals by recycling about 870 pounds of aluminum from printing plates.
- Our computer-to-plate technology lets us use modern, safe chemicals in the production of our printing plates.
- Mail Services minimizes our carbon footprint by limiting the number of delivery vehicles we use to bring our efficient services to campus.
- Printing Services uses vegetable and soy-based inks, and responsibly disposes of wastes according to Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.
- We recycled 164 tons of paper in fiscal year 2006-2007.
- We provide environmentally conscious paper products at our printing presses, and are currently performing tests on our copy machines in an effort to bring these green offerings to the Copy Centers as soon as possible.
- In fiscal year 2006-2007, we recycled 353 toner cartridges from across campus.
- Thus far in fiscal year 2007-2008, Campus Mail has collected more than 145 toner cartridges for recycling.
