UTPD chief of police finalists to participate in campus forums

AUSTIN, Texas—Four individuals have been selected as finalists for the position of University of Texas at Austin chief of police. In addition to interviews with university administrators, these candidates will participate in campus forums where they will meet and answer the questions of interested students, faculty and staff.

The campus forum format will be brown bag. The dates, times and locations are as follows:

  • Aaron Graves, chief of police, University of Southern California.
    Thursday, Oct. 27, from 11:30 a.m-1 p.m. in the Asian Culture Room of the Texas Union (4.224).
  • Rollin Donelson, chief of police, University of North Carolina Greensboro.
    Thursday, Nov. 3, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Texas Governor’s Room of the Texas Union (3.116).
  • Terry McMahan, interim chief of police, The University of Texas at Austin.
    Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Asian Culture Room of the Texas Union (4.224).
  • J.R. Grijalva, chief of police, El Paso Community College. Chief Grijalva has withdrawn his candidacy as of Nov. 15, 2005.
    Thursday, Nov. 17, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Texas Governor’s Room of the Texas Union (3.116).

“This is the final step in our process,” said Dr. Mike Lauderdale, chair of the chief of police search committee.  “We look forward to the campus community meeting these candidates.”
