Provisions for classes canceled Dec. 7-8

The following provisions have been made to make up classes canceled due to inclement weather on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8.

Classes and exams scheduled for Wednesday (Dec. 7) after 2 p.m. will be made up on Monday (Dec. 12) using the same class or exam schedule and location. Classes and exams scheduled for Thursday (Dec. 8) will be made up on Tuesday (Dec. 13) using the same class or exam schedule and location. If this “last” class meeting is not necessary, faculty may cancel the class. Contact your professor if you have questions about individual class meetings or your dean’s office if you have additional questions about academic matters. University Extension students should contact the University Extension office for information about rescheduling evening classes.

Final examinations (except in the School of Law) will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 14, as originally published. Final examinations in the School of Law will begin on Monday, Dec. 12, as originally published.

Student organization meetings scheduled by the Student Activities and Leadership Development office may have been canceled for Monday and Tuesday. If your meeting is canceled, you will be notified by that office.

University closed today, Dec. 8 due to inclement weather

The University of Texas at Austin women’s basketball game tonight (Dec. 8) against Stephen F. Austin State University will go on as scheduled this evening, beginning at the previously announced tip time of 7 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center, despite the closing of the UT campus today due to weather. Fans are asked to use caution in traveling. Normal game-day parking lots will be available. For more information about tonight’s game, visit the Texas Longhorns Web site.

The University of Texas at Austin is closed today, Thursday, Dec. 8, and will reopen on schedule tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 9.

The University of Texas System administration offices are also closed today, Thursday, Dec. 8.

University to close today, Dec. 7 due to forecast of inclement weather

Due to the university closure and potentially unsafe road conditions ALL UT shuttle service will be suspended at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 7) and is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 8).

Please note: Classes and examinations in the Division of Continuing Education are canceled for today (Dec. 7). University Extension students should contact the University Extension office for information about rescheduling evening classes.

December 7, 2005

Due to today’s forecast of inclement weather, the university will officially close beginning at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 7) and reopen at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 8). Employees who must work to provide essential services and functions will receive state compensatory time.

All university buildings normally locked by night custodial staff will be locked by the day custodial staff immediately after closure.

Classes and exams scheduled for this afternoon will be made up on Monday (Dec. 12) using the same class or exam schedule and location. Classes and exams scheduled for tomorrow morning before 10 a.m. will be made up on Tuesday (Dec. 13) using the same class or exam schedule and location. If this “last” class meeting is not necessary, faculty may cancel the class.

Human Resource Services will provide instructions on recording time to department HR contacts.
