“Cheer Up” filming scheduled this weekend
in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium
Filming for a scene in the motion picture “Cheer
Up” is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Nov. 22, 23 and
24) in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium at The University of Texas
at Austin.
The filming from about sunrise until late afternoon each of
those days will involve about 3,000 “extras” bused in from
an off-site parking location. The stadium is one of several landmarks
on the campus
expected to be shown in the action comedy starring Tommy Lee Jones.
Equipment
vehicles for the production will use some parking spaces near the corner
of San Jacinto and 23rd streets during that period.
“Cheer Up” also plans to film scenes at the university’s South
Mall area during the Thanksgiving holiday period when there is minimal
pedestrian and vehicle traffic on campus. For more information contact: Robert
