Internships
The United Nations High Commission for Refugees, Geneva Switzerland
In 1993, the School of Social Work established a final field placement with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). This placement, designed for students in the CAL concentration, entails living and working in Geneva Switzerland for the spring semester. Between 1993 and 2006, a total of 15 students have completed this field placement. Robin Ellis, the first student placed with UNHCR in 1993, is still working for UNHCR and has been involved in refugee services in some of the most challenging refugee crises in the world.
