Graduate School policy states that no more than twenty percent (20%) of the required credit hours in a program of work can be taken on a credit/no credit basis. This works out to about three courses within a typical doctoral program. Students typically take the Research Practicum and the Dissertation Design course on a credit/no credit basis. This means that students can take one additional course as credit/no credit. Courses taken beyond the required program of work can be taken as CR/NC.
The student must perform at the 'C' level in order to obtain credit. An overall 3.0 GPA (Grade Point Average) excluding SW 696/697 is necessary in order to graduate.
