Admission for Candidacy
Graduate School policy states that no more than twenty percent (20%) of the required credit hours in a program of work can be taken on a credit/no credit basis (CR/NC). Core courses must be taken for a letter grade. Courses offered only on the credit/no credit basis are not included in the twenty percent. Approximately three courses may be taken for optional credit/no credit within a typical doctoral program. Courses taken beyond the required program of work can be taken as CR/NC.
The student must perform at the 'C' level in order to obtain credit. An overall 3.0 GPA (Grade Point Average) excluding SW 696/697 is necessary in order to graduate.
