Andrea Marquez, LCSW, MSSW ’07, has been recognized by AVANCE Austin for her work as supervisor of social work interns.
For the past year and a half, Andrea has provided weekly supervision to MSSW students from the School of Social Work who are placed at AVANCE for their field internship. Thanks to Andrea’s work, families with struggling children are paired with social work students for intensive case management in navigating the complex web of medical and social services.
“I really think there is a greater need for Spanish-speaking social workers in this area,” Andrea said. She is glad she can help with the mission and goals of AVANCE-Austin and the families that this organization serves.
