Social Work Alumni Network (SWAN)
The Social Work Alumni Network (SWAN) is an association of School of Social Work alumni. It offers opportunities for fulfilling continuing education requirements, various opportunities to network with other social workers in your area of practice and/or geographic area, and opportunities to stay connected to the School of Social Work through special events. Currently, there is an Austin chapter, an El Paso chapter and other Texas chapters are in the process of being established. All graduates of The University of Texas School of Social Work are considered members of SWAN. Membership is automatic upon graduation and there are no dues or fees for membership.
In cooperation with the School of Social Work, the purpose of SWAN is to support and promote the interest of alumni and of the School through:
- Programs which strengthen and maintain an association with the School;
- Activities which assist the School in implementing its goals and objectives;
- Provision of resources to alumni in areas related to professional development and career advancement; and
- Activities which facilitate communication between the School and the participants of the Alumni Network.
