Become a Board Member

There are three different ways you can be involved with Austin’s SWAN Chapter. One way is to be a Board member – this means you would help to lead the Austin Chapter in its interests and goals, and assist with such activities as event planning and fundraising.

Important Information about Being a Board Member

  • Board members are asked to attend at least six out of our nine yearly meetings from September through August, with no meetings in December, June, or July.
  • Board meetings are held at the UT School of Social Work once a month for one hour.
  • Some committee work is expected of Board members between Board meetings.
  • Board members are asked to contribute to the SWAN fund once a year.
