Trainee Position: Columbia University's HIV Intervention Science Training Program for Racial/Ethnic Minority New Investigators (HISTP)

Dr. Michele A. Rountree has been offered a trainee position with the Columbia University sponsored HIV Intervention Science Training program for Racial/Ethnic Minority New Investigators (HISTP) program. HISTP offers resources and support to further the growth and development of new investigators with emphasis on HIV/AIDS intervention science, health disparities, and co-occurring issues related to mental health, substance use, and violence. To build on the strengths of HISTP investigators in addressing these issues, the NIMH funded HISTP aims to promote a cadre of REM scientists as principal investigators on extramurally funded studies in the areas of HIV prevention science. Dr. Rountree, along with her identified mentor Dr. Elizabeth Pomeroy will also be matched with mentors in broader HIV/AIDS research communities to facilitate pilot project development, implementation and grant funding activities.
