Opening Working Plenary:
The speakers will prepare brief, original position papers on improving the teaching of evidence-based practice (EBP) in schools of social work, which will be disseminated to participants in advance along with reactor papers. The speakers and reactors will serve on a panel to start the symposium on Monday afternoon, with a Q&A/Discussion session and a reception to follow.

  • Registration: 1:30 p.m.
  • Opening Session: 2:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Reception immediately following opening plenary: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 17, 2006

Tuesday will be devoted to open-ended breakout sessions at which participants can discuss their concerns and ideas about improving the teaching of EBP, with panelists serving as expert resources.

  • Continental Breakfast: 8:00 a.m.
  • Working Breakouts: 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
  • Lunch on your own: 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Working Breakouts: 1:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

Wednesday will close with Breakfast & Working Plenary Session. Each breakout group will report on its conclusions and recommendations, and there will be a general discussion.

  • Breakfast Buffet 8:00 a.m.
  • Working Plenary Session: 8:30 a.m. - Noon
  • Noon: Symposium ends
