Texas Children's Mental Health Plan Process Study

Principal Investigator:
Laura Lein, Ph.D.

Duration: 92 - 95

The Texas Children's Mental Health Plan is an effort to collaborate children's mental health services across nine state agencies in Texas. The nine agencies are: Council on Early Childhood Interventions, Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Texas Department of Health, Texas Department of Human Services, Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, Texas Education Agency, Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, Texas Rehabilitation Commission, and Texas Youth Commission. Researchers conducted a process evaluation of this collaborative effort to determine the barriers and facilitators of successful inter-agency collaboration. The project completed its final report during October, 1994. A summary of the research results has been printed and a journal article has been accepted for publication in the Journal for Mental Health Administration.
