Family Forum/Parents Anonymous, Inc. - A Cultural Competency Assessment

The University of Texas at Austin Diversity Institute of the Center for Social Work Research (CSWR) in the School of Social Work are working with the staff of Family Forum/Parents Anonymous of Texas, Inc. to undertake a cultural competency assessment of their non-profit agency. This assessment includes a review of Austin facilities; interviews with staff, affiliates, a sample of volunteers, and board members; results of a mailed survey with staff, affiliates, a sample of volunteers, and board members concerning cultural issues; an analysis of policies, curriculum, mission statement, and related documents regarding cultural competency and sensitivity; results of focus groups conducted with a sample of Family Forum/Parents Anonymous of Texas workers; recommendations and timeline for achieving agency cultural competency; and cultural diversity training, with follow-up sessions to training.
