Methods to Study Ethnicity and Faith-Based Treatment

Duration: Ongoing

The project has been completed on 1) development of a framework of dimensions of faith-based treatment programs, and 2) initial development and reliability and validity of an instrument to measure spirituality and spiritual change from a Christian perspective. We are currently completing research on a Spanish version of the instrument; 3) assessment of the effectiveness of the instrument to measure change in spirituality over time for persons in chemical dependence treatment programs is underway; 4) plans are being developed for future research using the instrument as both a research and clinical tool.
