Student Calendar

 May

  • May 1 – Internal Transfer Applications are due. Tuition bills for the summer session distributed to students electronically. Notice is sent to the email address on the student’s record.
  • May 4 – Last class day.
  • May 7-8 No class days.
  • May 9–12, 14–15 Spring semester final examinations except in the School of Law.
  • May 17 – Tuition payment deadline for undergraduate students who registered for the summer session during the spring. Due at 5:00pm.
  • May 19 – Spring 2012 Commencement.
  • May 22–24- Add/drop for the summer session for students who have registered and paid their tuition.
  • May 28- Memorial Day holiday.
  • May 29- Orientation and testing begin for new undergraduate students. School of Social Work Summer School Orientation.
  • May 29–30 Registration for the summer session; students who register on these dates will register for all classes to be taken during the summer session. To complete registration, undergraduate students must pay tuition by 5:00 pm on May 30.
  • May 30- 5:00 pm Tuition payment deadline for undergraduates.
  • May 31- Classes begin for first-term, nine-week, and whole-session classes.

 June

  • June 1- Last day of the official add/drop period for first-term, nine-week, and whole-session classes; after this date, changes in registration require the approval of the department chair and usually the student’s dean.
  • June 5- Fourth class day for first-term, nine-week, and whole-session classes. Last day an undergraduate student may add a first-term, nine-week, or whole-session class except for rare and extenuating circumstances. Payment for added classes (add bill) due by 5:00 pm. Last day to drop a first-term, nine-week, or whole-session class for a possible refund.
  • June 7- Registration for the fall semester begins for new summer session students who have paid their tuition for summer, and for continuing and readmitted students who have not yet registered for fall.
  • June 13- School of Social Work Summer Orientation for Fall 2012 Freshmen.
  • June 20- Last day a student may change registration in a first-term, nine-week, or whole-session class to or from the pass/fail or credit/no credit basis.
  • June 25th- School of Social Work Summer Orientation for Fall 2012 transfer students.

 July

  • July 4- Independence Day holiday.
  • July 5- Last class day for first-term classes. Last day to drop a first-term class.
  • July 6- Registration for students enrolling for the second term only. To complete registration, undergraduate students must pay tuition by 5:00 pm on July 6.
  • July 6–7 Final examinations for first-term classes, except in the School of Law. Nine-week and whole-session classes do not meet.
  • July 9- Classes begin for second-term classes.
  • July 10-  Last day of the official add/drop period for the second term; after this date, changes in registration require the approval of the department chair and usually the student’s dean.
  • July 16- School of Social Work Summer Orientation for Fall 2012 Freshmen.
  • July 12- Fourth class day for second-term classes. Last day an undergraduate student may add a second-term class except for rare and extenuating circumstances. Payment for added classes (add bill) due by 5:00 pm. Last day to drop a second-term class for a possible refund.
  • July 20- Last day to apply for an undergraduate degree. Last day an undergraduate student may register in absentia. Last day during the summer session for new summer session students and continuing and readmitted students to register for the fall semester.
  • July 24- Tuition bills for the fall semester distributed to students electronically. Notice is sent to the e-mail address on the student’s record. Last class day for nine-week classes. Last day to drop a nine-week class.
  • July 25–26 Final examinations for nine-week classes.
  • July 27- Last day a student may change registration in a second-term class to or from the pass/fail or credit/no credit basis.

 August

  • August 10- Last class day for second-term and whole-session classes, including three- and four-hour law classes. Last day to drop a second-term or whole-session class. Final examinations for second-term and whole-term classes.
  • August 13- Final examinations for second-term and whole-session classes. Official graduation date.
  • August 15- Tuition payment deadline for undergraduate students who registered for the fall semester by July 20. Due at 5pm.
