Greg V. Jensen is the Senior Administrative Officer in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health for Lone Star Circle of Care, a Behaviorally Enhanced Federally Qualified Health Center in Round Rock, Texas. In this capacity, Mr. Jensen leads the overall development of the integration of behavioral and medical services provided to vulnerable populations including Medicaid, uninsured and underserved.
Mr. Jensen is the former director of the Department of Social Service and administrator of Behavioral Health at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his bachelor of arts in Criminal Justice from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and his MSW from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
The extent of his service to the NASW includes a former Trustee of the NASW Insurance Trust, filling the chair position from 2002-2005; the Iowa Chapter President from 1990-92 and member of the Iowa Board for the previous five years leading up to his presidency; Iowa delegate to the Delegate Assembly in 1993 and 1996; Region IX representative to the National Board from 1998-2001; National Executive Committee from 1998-2001; and presider of the Delegate Assembly in 2002. Additionally, Mr. Jensen served as the panel chair and member on several COI cases, Chair of the Social Work Licensing Coalition in Iowa, and the National Task Force for Health Care Specialty Certification.
Mr. Jensen has practiced social work since 1979 in a variety of settings including health care, child welfare, behavioral health, and private practice. As a clinician and administrator for over 30 years, Mr. Jensen uses his experiences to inform his presentations making them practical and relevant to social work practice at all levels.
