Dina Kassler, Ph.D.

Lecturer

Dr. Dina Kassler was born in Scranton, PA. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. After briefly working as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Dr. Kassler moved to Memphis, TN to pursue additional graduate work. She subsequently received a Master of Science in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis. She holds licensure as a Psychologist in Texas, New York, and North Carolina as well as national certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor.

Dr. Kassler’s clinical experience has included individual therapy with adults from the community, university students, the developmentally disabled, and geriatrics, spanning such issues as depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, personality disorders, addictions, and cognitive impairment. Her group work has included such areas as depression, substance abuse, psychotropic medications, smoking cessation, anger management, PTSD, and community living skills. Additionally, she assisted in the formulation and implementation of groups for depression for a large-scale research project.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kassler has taught several courses at the university and community college levels. While at the University of Memphis, she taught such courses as General Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Research Methodology, and Abnormal Psychology. Additionally, Dr. Kassler taught General Psychology at Shelby State Community College in Memphis for several years.

Currently, Dr. Kassler works as a Licensed Psychologist for Associates for Behavioral Health Care in Austin, TX. She provides services to a primarily geriatric population of individuals residing in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Dr. Dina Kassler resides with her husband, Dr. Max Kassler, in Cedar Park, TX. Together they enjoy traveling, reading, playing video games, cards, and board games, and spending time with their four-legged furry “children.”
