About
Lauren Gaspar has been a lecturer for the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, since 2006. She teaches Methods of Play Intervention each Fall, and in the past has taught Grief Counseling, as well as Social Work Practice with Abused and Neglected Children and Families. Lauren has been licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2005, previous to being a licensed social worker for the State of Massachusetts. She has worked at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (Boston, MA), the Good Grief Program (Boston, MA), Batshaw Youth and Family Centres (Montreal, Quebec), and Hope Alliance (Round Rock, TX). In May of 2007 Lauren expanded to a full-time private practice called the Good Mourning Counseling Center in central Austin. She specializes in the practice of play therapy and sandtray therapy, and is a member of the NASW as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children. Lauren lives in Austin with her husband, daughter Nicole and son Jackson.
