About
Ms. Cook is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She spent the first decade of her social work career providing direct service medical social work services and supervising social work staff in medical settings.
For the past 20 years, she has held various leadership positions in Texas state government. In her senior roles with the Texas Legislature's Sunset Advisory Commission and the Texas Comptroller's Texas Performance Review, Ms. Cook gained a comprehensive understanding of policy and program development and organizational analysis.
In the early 1990s, she was recruited to assist the Vice President of the United States in planning and conducting the first-ever National Performance Review. As Assistant Deputy Director for Agency Teams, Ms. Cook trained a 100-member team and supervised reviews of federal agencies, such as Health and Human Services, State Department, Department of Defense, and more.
Ms. Cook headed up a Management Analysis Division at the former Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and also served as a Chief of Staff for a Texas State Senator before joining the Texas Department of Insurance where she coordinates a variety of agency-wide organizational improvement projects.
Ms. Cook's mission is to teach emerging leaders how to inspire and manage people in organizations using proven techniques through the engagement of our collective imaginations, hearts, and minds.
