Field Instructor Training
This training for agency based field instructors is designed and presented by Kathy Armenta, LCSW and Bonnie Bain, LCSW
Overview of Training Format
This Field Instructor Training Model is presented in four modules:
- "Setting the Stage for Field Instruction"
- Competency-based Field Instruction: Tools and Applications
- Educational Supervision
- Culture, Diversity and Social Justice in Field Instruction
Each module is a series of Web pages covering the four topic areas. Some of the pages have short Quicktime* video clips that discuss and explain the material being presented. The essential handouts and forms that we use in our discussions in the video clips as well as a bibliography are available as links throughout the module and on the Academic Forms, Handbooks, etc. page.
It is important to take the training in the sequence it is offered. If you need to reference and review various components of the training, visit the Training Site Map.
Please allow between 1 and 3 hours for each module. A quiz will be provided to help assess your learning. By meeting a minimum standard on the quiz you will earn a certificate to document successful completion of this training. Your name will then be added to the list of approved UTSSW Field Instructors.
