The portfolio programs listed below are offered through the UT Austin’s Office of Graduate Studies and available to MSSW students. Students must work with the MSSW advisor to arrange classes.

Prospective employers nationwide are demanding specialized skills in older adults development or gerontology. This program provides core knowledge and understanding of aging research and best-practice approaches.

This program focuses on how disability is constructed, viewed, and understood culturally, politically, economically and socially. People with disabilities are centered and their experiences in the world create the context for discussion.

This program requires four graduate courses related to dispute resolution from more than two departments. Steering committee includes faculty from education, public affairs, business, communications, social work, architecture and law.

Nonprofit and philanthropic activity are vital to generating social impact and addressing the complex challenges of the world today. This program provides specialized skills in social finance, nonprofit management, philanthropy, cultural policy, social marketing and community collaboration.

This program builds upon the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies broad-based expertise across disciplines and brings together graduate students and faculty from all over campus to foster dialogue, research and study.
