Dr. Velasquez Is Keynoter for 2009 Central Texas

Dr. Mary Velasquez
Dr. Mary Marden Velasquez, University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work Associate Dean for Research and Professor, and Director of the Center for Social Work Research, will deliver the keynote address at the 2009 Central Texas Clinical Research Forum on May 7 hosted by the Clinical Education Center at University Medical Center Brackenridge.
The title of Velasquez's address is "Health Behavior Research in Medical Settings: Successful Collaborations and Implications for Community Settings." Velasquez is the director of the Health Behavior Research and Training Institute, a unit of the Center for Social Work Research, School of Social Work.
The second annual Central Texas Clinical Research Forum is expected to draw faculty, medical residents, medical, nursing and graduate students; physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and staff interested in health care research. Last year, more than 170 participated in this event, including School of Social Work faculty and research staff.
