AUSTIN, Texas - Dr. Elizabeth C. Pomeroy, LCSW, a professor of social work at The University of Texas at Austin, has been named Editor-in-Chief of Social Work, the premier journal of the social work profession and the official journal of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Social Work, established in 1956, has a circulation of more than 125,000 throughout the United States and internationally and is dedicated to improving practice and advancing knowledge in social work and social welfare. Its articles yield new insights into established practices, evaluate new techniques and research, examine current social problems, and bring serious critical analysis to bear on problems in the profession. Major emphasis is placed on social policy and the solutions to serious human problems.
Pomeroy, as Editor-in-Chief, will work closely with the NASW Press staff in the double-blind peer review process and make decisions regarding the content of each issue of the journal. Pomeroy is the journal's 14th Editor-in-Chief and the first from The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work.
