Talk by Dr. John Chittick of TeenAIDS-Peer Corps, June 17

AUSTIN, Texas - The School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin will host an informal presentation by Dr. John Chittick entitled "Global Look at Peer-to-Peer HIV Outreach" Wednesday, June 17, at 3:00 p.m. in the school's UTOPIA Theatre.

Chittick is the executive director of TeenAIDS-Peer Corps dedicated to educating teens about HIV/AIDS with medically accurate information and empowering them to help save their generation from a growing but avoidable danger. Teen-AIDS-Peer Corps operates across the U.S. and internationally and offers personalized, professional trainings to charitable organizations, youth groups, teens and schools.

About the Speaker: Dr. John Chittick is a leading international expert in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and research from Harvard University. Formerly a lecturer at Harvard's School of Public Health, he established the non-profit TeenAIDS-PeerCorps in 1997. In 1998, he embarked on the first Global AIDS Walk that has taken him to 83 countries and 26 states to train teens to be effective peer leaders in the fight against HIV.
