Description: As social workers we are taught to be flexible and ready for change. Although we intuitively know this, change can be difficult, especially when it involves learning new technology. What is the role of technology in the social services field? How does new technology affect our ability to maintain client confidentiality, or to provide continuity of care? At times it can seem like new processes can impede our ability to meet the complex needs of our clients, just as they simultaneously make our personal lives easier. Join us for an interactive discussion on the impact of new technology on social service delivery in the Age of Information.

About the Presenter: Michelle Zadrozny, LMSW, is currently a managing consultant with Public Knowledge, LLC, a firm that specializes in business process improvement with state health and human services agencies. She has a particular focus on change management as it relates to new technology implementation. Previously Ms. Zadrozny was a founding member of Nets to Ladders, a firm that provided web-based software technology to improve community access and enrollment in state and federal public benefits programs. Her prior experience includes working for 10 years in a direct social work capacity, including several years with Austin Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, where she held various positions including case management, program administration, and managing the Evaluation Project for the Children's Partnership, a multi-agency Systems of Care collaboration for children with special needs funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services/SAMHSA. Ms. Zadrozny earned her MSSW degree from The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work.
