Effectively Working with the Gender Variant Community

AUSTIN, Texas - The Dean's Advisory Committee on Social Justice at The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work will present "Effectively Working with the Gender Variant Community" Friday, Oct. 23, 12:15 p.m.- 2:15 p.m. in the school's UTOPIA Theatre.

Presenter Katy Koonce, LCSW, is a transgender identified clinical social worker and human ecologist who has been an educator and activist for transgender people for the last 11 years.Through a combination of lecture and group discussion, participants will explore the rewards and challenges of working within gender diverse communities.They will be asked to think critically and talk openly about a marginalized community that is often misunderstood.

This workshop is approved for 2.0 CEU/2.0 Contact Hours, for Social Workers, LPC, LMFT ($10).
