Restore Rundberg is a community revitalization partnership between the Rundberg-area community, the Austin Police Department and The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work (watch a video about the project). Restore Rundberg partners are working to build collective efficacy, social cohesion and neighborhood attachment, as well as make improvements to the physical environment. The Austin Police Department has invested heavily in a Mobile Walking Beat, focused on creating positive relationships with community members and reducing crime in three crime hotspots. Crime data from the first 6 months of the implementation phase and preliminary findings from a community survey initiative will be presented.
