Tej Singh
was born in New Delhi, India, and was raised in Sugar Land, Texas. He has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Tej decided to pursue his Masters at The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, as he had developed an interest for working in domestic violence areas, as an undergraduate. In addition, he loves what Austin has to offer, from the outdoor activities at Town Lake to the clubs on 6th street. Tej's first internship was with the Resolution Counseling program at Lifeworks, working with adult males and females receiving group counseling for intimate partner violence. He also has an interest in international social work, and will be doing his field placement in Northern Ireland. After graduation, he plans to provide direct counseling services, and be involved with policy work at the governmental level. When asked to give one word to describe his experience as a student in the MSSW program, Tej said "Passionate."
