Support Social Work
The School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, with its MSSW program ranked as one of the Top 10 graduate programs in social work in the U.S., is built on a tradition of excellence in teaching, research and service. Since 1950, the school has prepared professional social workers for practice in a world of increasing complexity that still struggles to meet basic human needs.
The School’s proud and illustrious history is the enduring legacy of bright students, talented faculty, dedicated staff, and accomplished alumni. By being true to our mission, we ensure future success.
We have specific goals for the future, but attaining them relies on the participation of many. To continue hiring the best faculty, providing the highest quality research tools, and attracting talented students, we need your support.
With funds made possible through The Campaign for Texas, the school will build capacity in five key areas that will have a transformative impact and propel it to the next level of excellence.

No public institution today is sustained solely by its state government. As The University of Texas at Austin has transitioned from a state-funded university to a state-assisted university, the School of Social Work has survived and thrived thanks in whole to the private support we receive from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations. Annually, more than 80 percent of the School’s budget comes from private support—a fact that continues to humble and to encourage us to work towards excellence every day.
