Dr. Fingerman is a Professor of Human Development & Family Sciences. She studies adult development and aging. She has published numerous scholarly articles on positive and negative emotions and social support among families and friends in late life. Her work has examined parents and children, in-law ties, romantic partners, grandparents and grandchildren, friends, and peripheral social ties. She directs the Adult Family Project and is the Chair of the Aging and Health Portfolio Program (formerly the Gerontology Portfolio Program) here at UT Austin.Find out more »
