2011-2012 OFFICERS
Luis V. Guevara is a Program Coordinator with the Center for Mexican American Studies. He has held this position since 2008. His duties include administration of CMAS graduate programs, coordinating public engagement efforts, and special projects as assigned by the director. Luis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (Merrill College) and a Master of Arts degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. Luis is a former Public Relations Coordinator for the HFSA and has served as Staff Co-President in 2006-2007. In addition to serving as an adviser to a number of undergraduate student organizations at UT Austin, he has served as the Chair or Co-Chair of the HFSA's Leadership Symposium in 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008. Luis is originally from Mountain View, California, but has lived in Central Texas since 1991. He and his wife, Gloria, have a little girl name Sara and they live in Leander, Texas.

Leticia A. Lira is a Senior Administrative Associate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. She joined the department in 2003 and her responsibilities are mostly in account management and efficiency. Responsible for federal grant funding, she earned her Certified Research Administrator designation in May 2010. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston. Leticia is part of several committees within HFSA and served as the Treasurer-Elect last year. Leticia has broadened her horizons in courses such as the study of Italian and international trades, and she attends lectures sponsored by colleges and schools across campus. When she’s not busy at work or chauffeuring her daughter, Leticia enjoys attending live comedy and theater productions, major sporting events, and music concerts. She also enjoys dancing and traveling.

Jay Guevara is an Academic Advisor for the School of Undergraduate Studies. He has been in this position since September of 2010. His duties include advising undeclared and cascaded students, helping them choose a major that fits them best, and informing them about internal transfer processes. Jay received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The University of Texas at Austin. He enjoys being a member of HFSA, ASPA, and the Treasure for Academic Counselor Association. He also enjoys being the staff advisor for Hispanic Student Association.
Cristabel Bodden is a Research Analyst with the Office of Information Management and Analysis. She has held this position since 1997. Her duties include the management and production of the Statistical Handbook, the Undergraduate Profile, Degrees Awarded, and 12th Class Day enrollment reports/memo. Cristabel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. Cristabel enjoys attending and assisting with University events and being an active member of the University especially the HFSA.

Cristy T. Oliver is a Senior Administrative Associate with University Compliance Services at The University of Texas at Austin. She has the primary responsibility of providing administrative support for the office as well as coordinating various compliance and ethics initiatives. Cristy recently became a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional. Cristy has been an active member of HFSA for many years, participating on various committees, including Holiday Assistance Committee, Scholarship Committee, Professional Development Committee, Leadership Development Committee and Leadership Practicum. Cristy enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is an active volunteer with many local non-profit agencies.
Lori A. Peterson is a Financial Analyst in Payroll Services. She has held this position since 2008. Her primary responsibilities include reconciling the university’s Payroll Services Main Payroll Clearing Account and serving as the primary point of contact and expert on nonresident alien employees’ tax and compliance information, taxable fringe benefits, and departmental payroll fringe charges. Lori received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas State University San Marcos. Lori is originally from Falfurrias, Texas, but has lived in the Austin area since 1994. She currently lives in Spicewood, Texas with her husband, Eric, and 8 year-old daughter, Emily. Lori enjoys country living with horses, dogs, cats, and chickens and is very active in church activities, youth sports and 4-H.
