THE CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I - THE NAME
Hispanic Faculty/Staff Association (HFSA)
ARTICLE II - PURPOSES
1. To promote communication and support network among Hispanic faculty, staff and students.
2. To serve as a voice for University, Educational, Professional, and Hispanic-Cultural Issues.
3. To promote the career growth, development, and initial employment of Hispanic professionals
    at the University of Texas at Austin.
4. To provide opportunities for cultural and social interactions for Hispanic professionals.
ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP
Any person employed by The University of Texas in the Austin area in professional position may become a member of the Association as indicated in the bylaws of the organization.
ARTICLE IV - DUES
Members shall pay such dues as prescribed in the bylaws of the organization.
ARTICLE V - MEETINGS
The members of the organization shall meet monthly, or as otherwise provided by the bylaws of the organization.
ARTICLE VI - STRUCTURE OF THE ORGANIZATION
The organization shall have an Executive Committee structure as provided for in the bylaws of the organization.
ARTICLE VII - ADOPTION AND AMENDMENTS
Adoption:
This Constitution shall take effect upon its adopting by two-thirds of the voters present at a meeting called by the Executive Committee of the organization.
Amendments:
This Constitution may be amended by resolution adopted by two-thirds vote at a duly called meeting of the organization as provided by the bylaws of the organization.
