Youth Protection Program

Youth Protection Program Council

The 82nd session of the Texas Legislature enacted Senate Bill (SB) 1414, which amended Texas Education Code, Section 51.976. entitled “AN ACT relating to sexual abuse and child molestation training and examination for employees of certain programs for minors held on campuses of institutions of higher education; providing penalties” and that this act must be implemented effective June 1, 2012.
There are three steps that need to be done to ensure compliance. Each camp director must work with the designated point person of your division to ensure compliance of each camp. The designated point person must ensure all steps have been completed before each camp begins. Failure to fulfill the required steps will be perceived as non-compliance.

1 – Training

2 – Background Check

3 - Campus Program for Minors (CPM) Form
