Shingo, Shingo's roommate and myself at lighthouse in Mazu

This past week was quite interesting. All of the foreigners in the dormitory have gotten in trouble because of some incident in the basement during the last hurricane. All of us have received lists of rules for the dormitories and a letter discussing the incident. It really feels like discrimination because they made this situation involving a few foreigners one that involves all of us. Other than this the week was excellent.

This weekend I went out to have great stake and mashed potatoes at a friend's restaurant south of Taipei. The food was absolutely great and on time as I was beginning to crave American food. I would love to have the opportunity to go back there again, but I better save a bit of money. The food and everything took about two thousand NT.

With the midterm exams coming up we are all preparing and studying very hard. Chinese has proven to be an exceptionally harder language than I ever felt before. It seems the more you know the less you actually know. Right now there is so much that I want to know but I just must take everything a day at a time. This coming week there will be nothing to study but Chinese but afterwards I will have to work much harder with Japanese! Also I will start to work a lot more with Korean and get back on target with my language exchange for Korean.

One thing to look forward to this upcoming weekend is going to Matsu to get relax and have a good time. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate so that I can get good pictures. I will go with my classmate, Shingo, and his roommate. Shingo will probably get awesome photos despite the rain that is supposed to be coming down. I really am praying for divine intervention that the weather will be just cloudy and not so dark that my photos will come out too dreary..... Here is to next week! Hope I will have fun.
