Funding Study Abroad at UT Austin
Approximately 50% of students who study abroad on official UT Austin study abroad programs use some type of aid to fund their overseas program. In most cases funding will not come from one source, but rather from various diverse sources (scholarships, loans, savings, parents, etc.). Additionally, we encourage students to think outside the box when seeking funding. Quite often students seek support and/or sponsorship from family members, employers, extra curricular organization, and religious or social affiliations.
How to Begin:
Financial Planning Considerations:
Students should be aware that the application process and pre departure process will require a certain amount of "cash in hand". This is especially important, as in many cases loans, scholarships and grants will not distribute funds to the student until the first class day at UT each semester and many expenses must be covered before that time.
