UT Programs
A UT Program is sponsored by a university department and often led by UT Faculty members, who teach courses and help organize all other activities. Students register for the UT classes taught in the program and earn in-residence credits. Language proficiency may not be required, and costs depend on programs, locations etc. Fees are usually comprehensive.
Maymester Abroad Programs
One type of UT Program is the Maymester Abroad. These programs are three to four week study abroad courses that take place immediately following the spring semester at an international course location. Maymester courses are intensive three to four credit hour courses taught by UT faculty members. Maymester Abroad courses begin after the spring exam period and conclude prior to the second summer session. In addition to registering for a particular Maymester Abroad course, students will be required to attend orientation sessions during the spring semester. Some students may also be required to register for an International Learning Seminar.
