Programs Affiliated with UT

These programs are provided by a 3rd party institution or a company that is affiliated with UT. There are many kinds of affiliated programs. Often, their classes are taught in English, regardless of the country. They are based at either study centers or universities around the world.

You as the student will pay a program fee that typically includes housing, orientation, on-site assistance, and often meals, trips, social activities, etc.

Affiliate programs provide service with a smile.
  • Pay affiliated provider fees plus $400 to UT to maintain FULL TIME enrollment status.
  • Credit earned for coursework completed in approved affiliated study abroad programs is treated as residence credit for some purposes (e.g., the "sixty-hour rule") and transfer credit for other purposes. Please check with your dean's office for college- or school-specific rules.
  • Grades do not transfer into your UT GPA
  • Affiliates provide orientation, housing, general assistance, etc.
  • For most affiliated programs you are not required to be fluent in the language of the host country.
  • Affiliate programs have more organized student support and activities.
  • Additional planned excursions and cultural events are coordinated for students
  • The Center for Global Educational Opportunities website is the best place to start your study abroad research
