Advising

SAO recommends that you schedule an appointment with your Departmental Advisor to discuss your degree plan and an appointment with your Financial Aid counselor.

Please make sure you have attended a General Information Session before requesting to see and advisor.

After you have researched the abroad programs you should make an appointment with your country specific study abroad advisor. You may schedule an appointment by calling the Study Abroad front desk at:

During your first session with a Study Abroad Advisor the following topics will be discussed with you:

  • Program in more detail
  • Courses offered on the program and what courses you want to take
  • Financial aid and scholarships
  • Academic and language requirements for the program
  • Housing options
  • Special needs
  • Application process
  • Other study abroad programs
  • Business Students:

Business Students have several options for study abroad. Students can visit the Undergraduate Programs Office in CBA 2.400 for information on semester exchanges or the CIBER Office in CBA 3.204 for information on summer programs.

The BBA Exchanges are arranged specifically for undergraduate business students and the application process takes place through the Undergraduate Programs Office. Business Students may also apply for other programs through the UT Study Abroad Office. SAO offers many programs with business courses. Applications for these programs are available through SAO. Information is also available under the procedures section.

    Natural Sciences Students:

There are special exchange programs arranged for natural science students called TASSEP programs. These partners have been established specifically for CNS students. Students will need to follow the same steps in the procedure section as other exchange students. Additioally, students can contact Professor Robb Wilson (rjwilson@mail.utexas.edu) for more information.

In addition, there are numerous other programs available for natural science students through SAO.
