| | (also available in PDF format) |
Degree Programs Available
Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in:
- Accounting
- Engineering Route to Business
- Finance
- International Business
- Management
- Management Information Systems
- Marketing
- Supply Chain Management
Additionally, the Business Foundations Program offers nonmajor business courses that can be used as a minor in many degree plans outside the McCombs School.
Prospective Business transfer students are urged to become familiar with the School's curricula and rules in the Undergraduate Catalog 2008-2010.
Students who transfer directly from a Texas community college may choose to graduate under UT Austin catalog rules in effect during the time they attended the community college; those declaring the 2008-2010 catalog must complete all degree requirements by the end of the summer session 2016. At least sixty semester credit hours must be completed at UT Austin to earn an undergraduate degree.
Prospective students can monitor their UT degree progress – even before transfer – and check degree applicability of A.C.C. courses by using the “Planner” function of UT's Interactive Degree Audit (IDA) system.
Use of Transfer Credit Toward Degrees
The Office of Admissions evaluates courses from other institutions for comparability with UT Austin coursework, but the Dean's Office in the McCombs School approves transfer credit for use in a degree program.
Questions concerning degree/graduation requirements and degree applicability of transfer credit should be directed to the Undergraduate Programs Office, McCombs School of Business, CBA 2.400, UT Austin, Austin TX 78712 (512/471-0690).
Questions concerning transfer admission and transfer credit evaluation should be directed to the Office of Admissions, MAI 7, UT Austin, Austin TX 78712 (512/475-7387).

Special Notes
Due to space limitations in the McCombs School, admission is highly competitive; acceptance depends upon available space and the applicant's qualifications compared to the entire applicant pool. Transfer students are admitted only in fall semesters; applications are not considered for spring and summer terms.
Applicants with fewer than sixty semester hours of transferable credit must have completed BCIS 1305, MATH 2413 (or 1425), and at least one course chosen from MATH 2414 (or 1476) or ECON 2301 or 2302.
Applicants with sixty or more semester hours of transferable credit must have completed BCIS 1305, MATH 2413 & 2414 (or 1425 & 1476), and ECON 2301 & 2302.
Core curriculum transfer credit from A.C.C. is guaranteed to apply toward UT core requirements, but degree plans may specify how some core requirements should be fulfilled. Recommendations in this Guide satisfy core requirements with courses normally required by a student's major field of study at UT.
Courses in which grades lower than C− are earned do not transfer. Grades from transfer credit are excluded from a student's internal UT Austin grade point average computation.
Physical education activity courses do not apply toward degree requirements in the McCombs School, but grades and credit count toward transfer admission.
Up to twelve semester hours in Air Force or Military Science may be applied as elective credit toward degrees in the McCombs School by students commissioned through the UT Austin ROTC program.
High School Foreign Language Preparation
The University requires all students to have completed two years of high school study in a single foreign language. Transfer students who do not meet this requirement are assessed a foreign language deficiency; removal of deficiencies is required for graduation. To remove a deficiency, credit for the second college-level course in a language (numbered 1512) is required. Credit used to remove a deficiency cannot be applied toward other degree requirements. Prospective students should complete coursework needed to satisfy a foreign language deficiency prior to transfer.

Foreign Language
For the International Business major: four semesters in a single language, chosen from courses numbered 1511, 1512, 2311, & 2312. (Students should select a language associated with the world region in which they plan to specialize.)
For all other majors: in a single foreign language, either two years of prior high school credit or two college-level semesters chosen from courses numbered 1511 & 1512.
U.S. History
Two courses chosen from HIST/HIS 1301, 1302, 1643, 2301, 2327, 2328, 2341, and 2381.
Mathematics
- For the Engineering Route to Business major:
- MATH 2413, 2414, & 2415.
- For all other majors: two semesters of calculus chosen from
- MATH 2413 & 2414 (preferred) or MATH 1425 & 1476.
MATH 1425 cannot be used as a prerequisite for standard calculus courses after transfer, so it is recommended only in combination with 1476. Students transferring only 1425 are individually assessed to determine appropriate follow-up coursework in calculus.
(Because students who transfer in mid-sequence often have difficulty in subsequent calculus coursework, completion of the sequence at one institution is recommended.)
Other Coursework
ACCT 2301 & 2302 (or ACNT 1403, 1404, & 1475); BCIS 1305; BUSG 2371; and SPCH 1321 (preferred) or 1315.
