The UT Austin Application for Freshman Scholarships 2002-03 can be accessed at the URL below. Though the priority deadline was December 1, 2001, applications will be accepted throughout the month of December.
Application procedure simplified for fall 2003
The UT Austin Office of Admissions will take steps to streamline the application process by eliminating the preprinted freshman application beginning in fall 2003.
Communications joins Business in limiting automatic
top 10 percent admits

In recent years, the growing pool of prospective freshmen in Texas has forced some schools and colleges at UT Austin to initiate enrollment limits. In order to give non-top 10 percent students a more competitive chance for admission, the Colleges of both Business and Communication now limit their automatic top 10 percent admits.
Vision and perspective come to DAC
The Office of Admissions happily announces the hiring of its newest satellite admissions office director, Alicia Estes-Swanson, who takes charge of the Dallas Admissions Center.
Computer Sciences introduces Turing Scholar Program
The Department of Computer Sciences will initiate the University's newest freshman honors program in fall 2002, the Turing Scholar Program.
New undergraduate degree program in biomedical engineering
Responding to a growing trend, the College of Engineering has formed the Department of Biomedical Engineering, which will begin admitting freshmen in fall 2002.
Rise & Shine and Explore UT coming in March
High school juniors should mark their calendars for Saturday, March 2, 2002! This is the date of the Rise & Shine and Explore UT programs on the UT Austin campus, two excellent opportunities to learn more about UT and all that it offers.
