Graduate Change of Major-Financial Considerations

  • Graduate Fellowships
    • Fellowships offered through the Graduate School are administered by the Office of Graduate Studies. (Be sure to visit the Office of Graduate Studies "Financing Graduate Education" web page.)
    • Many departments and colleges also offer fellowships. If you are interested in being considered you should contact your Graduate Adviser as soon as possible.
    • Check with your program of interest to find out about current deadlines for applying.
  • Teaching and Research Assistantships
Assistantships are awarded by academic departments and provide important experience for graduate students. If you are interested in being considered you should inform your Graduate Adviser as soon as possible.
NOTE: Offer of a fellowship or assistantship, though indicative of favorable consideration by a program, does not constitute acceptance for graduate study. Formal acceptance is issued only by the Office of Graduate Studies.
  • Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) assists graduate students in applying for federal, state, and institutional funds available to them. Need and non-need based educational loans are included in this process.
