US Graduate Admission-About the UT EIDThe UT EID is an electronic identifier that allows you to access secure UT web services. As an applicant, you will use your EID to check the status of your application using our online status check. If admitted, you will use the EID for other online services from financial aid and housing to registration and bill payment. After you submit your application, you will receive an acknowledgement letter or e-mail message. Your EID user name and initial password will be included in this correspondence. To use your EID, you must activate or claim it using the password assigned in the letter. You can do this by logging on to a secure web service such as the application status check. The first time you log on, you will be required to choose a new password. It should be at least 8 characters long and alphanumeric. If there is no password listed in your acknowledgement letter, that means that your EID has already been activated and you have changed your initial password to one of your choosing. Visit the EID help suite for additional information.
