Eligibility And Timeline
Eligibility
A candidate for the Career Assistant Internship must have:
- Full-time enrollment status at UT-Austin (at least 6 class hours each semester)
- 24 hours of academic credit completed by the start of internship
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
- Ability to commit to the internship for both fall and spring semesters.
- Availability for interviews: individual interview in March/April and group interviews in April.
CA Recruitment, Selection and Training Timeline
Exact dates will vary from year-to-year and are designated in the application materials. This timeline does not provide exact dates. It is designed to give applicants a general sense of what to expect when they apply for a CA internship position.
| January: | Applications available at the Career Exploration Center’s Front Desk or downloadable via the CEC’s web site. | |
| February: | Applications accepted any time during normal business hours. | |
| March: | Application deadline occurs in early March (including recommendation forms and spring schedule). Mini-group interviews conducted with selected applicants. |

| April: | A group interview with selected candidates. Final selections made. | |
| August: | Orientation Training during the full week before Fall classes start. |
