Eligibility

A candidate for the Career Assistant Internship must have:

  1. Full-time enrollment status at UT-Austin (at least 6 class hours each semester)
  2. 24 hours of academic credit completed by the start of internship
  3. Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
  4. Ability to commit to the internship for both fall and spring semesters.
  5. Availability for interviews: individual interview in March/April and group interviews in April.

CA Recruitment, Selection and Training Timeline

Exact dates will vary from year-to-year and are designated in the application materials. This timeline does not provide exact dates. It is designed to give applicants a general sense of what to expect when they apply for a CA internship position.

  January: Applications available at the Career Exploration Center’s Front Desk or downloadable via the CEC’s web site.
  February: Applications accepted any time during normal business hours.
  March: Application deadline occurs in early March (including recommendation forms and spring schedule).
Mini-group interviews conducted with selected applicants.
  April: A group interview with selected candidates. Final selections made.
  August: Orientation Training during the full week before Fall classes start.
