When And How To Apply
To apply for Fall 09 & Spring 10 or Spring 10 & Summer 10 semesters, please submit the following materials:
- Cover letter (indicate for which semesters you are applying)
- Resume (include education and relevant work experience and skills)
- Three references (please provide name, relationship, and contact info)

Students who meet the requirements will be scheduled for a 20-30 minute individual interview with the Practicum Coordinator. The selection committee will then choose applicants for a one-hour panel interview. This interview is with a panel of CEC counselors and includes a role play. The applicant will be assessed on the following factors:
- Effectively articulates how a practicum experience at the Career Exploration Center relates to his/her career goals
- Demonstrates the interpersonal skills and aptitude of an effective counselor
- Has excellent communication and language skills
Timeline and Deadlines
Feb 19—Deadline to submit application materials
Feb 23- March 6—Individual and panel interviews
March 13—Decisions made and offers extended
Please note: If you are a UT Counseling Psychology doctoral student, the CEC will be participating in the match system and will utilize the timeline specified for your program.
