Tests Available At The CEC
The CEC offers several career tests, designed to give you feedback on your interests, your personality preferences, and more.
Although there are many free or inexpensive career tests available online, the career instruments available through the CEC were carefully researched and chosen based on their test construction, validity and reliability statistics.
Note: Prices listed are offered only to currently enrolled UT students. Prior to taking these instruments you will need to see a counselor.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and
The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) - $36 for both
This career testing package will help you begin to identify options. The cost is for the total package, both the MBTI and SII.
About the MBTI: The MBTI measures your personality style and provides information on career options. About the SII: The Strong Interest Inventory compares the results of how you assess your interests and hobbies with the results from professionals in various careers. Your results also include suggestions about majors and careers.
You take the MBTI and the SII online. It will take about 30 minutes to complete each one. Then, you will attend a small group interpretation workshop. Workshops are held weekly at the CEC. This MBTI-SII package may be helpful if you are undecided about a major or career, or would like to identify more career ideas that might connect to your current field of study.
