FAQs: Getting more information

Before I leave my country for Austin, where can I get information about admission to U.S. universities, or about tests like the TOEFL, or GMAT, or GRE or SAT?

Visit one of the Overseas Educational Advising Centers

You may visit these centers before you leave your home country. They will be able to answer questions regarding U.S. university admissions processes and requirements, including admissions tests such as TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, and SAT. You can consult their website at http://e.usia.gov/education/advise/asaeacs.htm .

Where can I get more information on-line?

The easiest way to research Austin and your English program prior to arrival is over the internet. Check our homepage, http://www.utexas.edu/student/esl for a description of and application to the AEP and ELP programs, program dates and costs, ESL faculty biographies, a calendar of events, the ESL newsletter- "What's Happening Around Town?,” plus information about the ESL computer lab, and TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, and SAT classes. There are links to the International Office webpage, UT webpage, and pages on Austin.
