The AACRAO Nominations and Elections Process

Nominations are submitted to the Vice Chair of the Nominations and Elections 
(N&E) Committee.  The Vice Chair con- tacts those nominated to confirm their 
willingness to be considered and to request completion of an AACRAO Nominee 
Activity Report.  To further AACRAO's commitment to diversity, the Committee 
considers geographic representation, race/ethnicity, gender, and institution 
type, in addition to AACRAO experience and state and regional involvement. 

1998-1999 AACRAO Board of Directors

All officers serve for three years and may not succeed themselves. A 
President Elect is selected every  year. The other officers are elected on a 
three-year recurring cycle.  The cycle for officers on the 1998-1999 Board of 
Directors including the President Elect position and three-year appointments 
is shown below:

Nominations and Elections Committee

Members of the N&E Committee are elected by the membership of AACRAO.  The 
N&E Committee meets at the Annual Meeting for initial orientation and in the 
fall to select candidates for nomination to Association offices and to select 
the members to appear on the N&E ballot for the subsequent year.  Any member 
of AACRAO is eligible to serve on the 1999-2000 N&E Committee except those 
who served on the N&E Committee during the years 1994-95, 1995-96, 1997-98, 
and 1998-99.
